Top 10 Freelance Sites & Why You Should Start Freelancing

Learn why you should freelance in this recession stricken world, and also get to know the top 10 freelancing sites to start your freelancing career.

So you have your degrees in your bag, and waiting for the dream job to walk to you (which is’nt coming btw), you have loads of knowledge but unfortunately no one wants to hire you because they tell you have inadequate experience !! (how can they expect experience out of new born graduate). F*** them start your own company, or even get your own work, no body will offer you job willingly in this recession time so wake up and get your own job, Freelancing is your answer to all your prayers.

Now your thinking, Freelance? it has no guarantees of my weekly payments, does it even have potential to fulfill the luxuries i have dreamed of from when i was a kid? (JOB isnt going to f***ing fulfill it either), What will i tell my neighbor when he asks me my office?  Don’t think so much, better use the energy on thinking what will i do if i don’t get a job? Something is better than nothing ain’t it. Freelancing has evolved over time, and it has more opportunities for you than putting yourself in the corner and writing blogs (like me !!). And as a matter of fact, thousands are earning a very high weekly income or even have started there own company (haven’t you heard of entrepreneurship !!).

7 Reasons Why You Should Start Freelancing

  • You want money !! and who doesn’t ??
  • You think you have necessary talents to tolerate and handle the weird ideas which your clients are going to give you
  • You think client is always right (this is also true for JOB – Just Of your BOSS)
  • You think you can evolve with the technology around you
  • You wan’t to get some experience in your resume  for those suckers in job interview
  • You have a computer with keyboard and mouse with a >dialup connection rotting
  • And last but not the least your parents are thinking for selling you on ebay to recover the money spend on educating you

Now if your convinced you do need to do some freelancing, then lets start with the sites where you can start your royalty free freelancing career.

The post is really great but I completely disagree on the majority of those 7 points (reason for becoming a freelancer).

I am in freelancing industry for more than 5 months now on scriptlance, freelancer, guru, odesk, elance, getacoder. BUT i am doing freelancing only to learn new things and be a free guy, be my own boss, etc. Apart from that, I do have a HUGE potential to get job not just because I am fluent in English and my field, but also because I am a regular topper in my school, college and other academics, etc.

Overall, I love freelancing more than doing Job and becoming someone else’s servant. I just want to be independent and earn the money now and establish something on my own in future by sacrificing this money, who knows, maybe a new company?

Freelancing also brings me enough free time for my family and I do not have to carry the burden of stress and tension always with me (which would have happenend if I was in a job). I am a happy man now :)

    Thanks

    Hey guys,
    This is KK,
I had been struggling to get even a single project from Elance, I am not sure what is going wrong even though I am bidding low. I am desparetly looking for some freelancing.
Please let me know some authentic ( not face or not scam) which helps in getting online or freelancing job. Because whatever site I login and search in google it is almost scam.

Err?? What does this mean? Freelancers are trash???

Lousy points you got there mate! I completely disagree with most of them… Freelancing is MORE FUN than doing job and you do not have to worry about someone else’s company, you know your Job!

    Get the points right.

@crafts there is a great site for Freelancers http://ProjectTakers.com Its today’s alternative way to work. Employers post jobs they need done and Freelancers bid to take the projects to the next level. There is also a way to BeSocial on their site.

You guys are silly. If you want to get a project, spend some time reading the proposal and make a custom response. Don’t just cut and paste things like “Hi sir pls let us take your project.”

If somebody is going to pay you up to 20,000 RS (400USD) – spend 3 minutes on each post and actually talk properly before the lazy guy in American who wants you to do his work gets even lazier and deletes your post.
